That journey has taken him from leading advanced defense technology programs to evaluating startups and investing in the founders building emerging technologies.
Along the way, he realized that while technology creates value, ownership determines who captures it.
That is why he founded QoCo Ventures: to help founders, investors, and professionals recognize, access, and ultimately own the opportunities shaping the future.

QoCo Ventures was shaped by repeated exposure to the same structural gaps across the venture ecosystem. We didn’t set out to build another firm; we set out to solve a specific disconnect between preparation and participation.
Over years of observation, three consistent friction points became clear:
For Founders: We saw brilliant visionaries navigating the complexities of capital without the structural support needed to protect their equity and long-term vision.
For Investors: We observed capital being deployed by decision-makers who lacked the deep, localized context required to truly understand the value of the ventures they were funding.
For the Ecosystem: We noticed a growing trend of “educational” programs that were disconnected from the brutal, practical realities of venture practice, leaving aspiring investors high on theory but low on execution.
The Infrastructure of Preparation
Programs like the HBCU–VCA initiative emerged from these insights, serving not as simple outreach, but as foundational infrastructure. This work reflects our core belief that strengthening ownership outcomes requires engaging earlier and teaching better. We believe that by connecting rigorous learning directly to capital and execution, we can reduce the risk of ownership before it ever becomes permanent.
